Bhavana conducted market linkages work for the artisan sector, covering textiles, apparel, accessories and home décor products. This entailed mapping the Zambian MSME landscape and developing MSME profiles capturing their product range, production capacity, business size, and local, regional and international export capacity. The Bhavana team then conducted a buyer’s mission for four regional and international brands interested in sourcing products in Zambia. This assignment included: successfully matching the international buyers with MSME suppliers; facilitating in-person buyer/MSME meetings; identifying the landscape of logistics service providers; providing post-trip support to the international brands to reach the purchase order stage and; supporting the Zambian MSMEs to meet the purchase order terms and navigate export requirements. From this work, Bhavana developed an internal report for the client articulating MSMEs key challenges for growth and recommendations for future activities.
